From Asia to the World:
A Forward-Looking Logistics Network
Founded in 1992 in Taipei, Pacific Concord International Ltd. (hereafter “Pacific Concord”) has been deeply rooted in the ocean freight forwarding sector, committed to providing global customers with reliable, flexible, and competitive logistics solutions. With decades of hands-on experience and a well-established regional network, Pacific Concord helps clients navigate transportation risks and logistics challenges in the international trade process.
Pacific Concord was established during the early 1990s, a period of rapid growth in Taiwan’s export trade. At that time, Taiwan was one of Asia’s leading manufacturing and export hubs, and Kaohsiung Port ranked among the world’s top three container ports. The demand for professional ocean freight forwarding and risk management services was expanding quickly. On the global stage, supply chains were shifting eastward, and cargo volumes on Asia–Europe and Asia–U.S. trade lanes were rising sharply, driving carriers and forwarders alike to expand their service networks. Against this backdrop, Pacific Concord took its first step, combining practical expertise with market foresight.
To broaden service coverage and strengthen its regional presence, Pacific Concord began expanding overseas in the 1990s under the “STAR CONCORD” brand, setting up offices in line with trade development trends in each region. For example, as cross-strait economic exchanges grew in the mid-1990s, Pacific Concord established branches in China’s major port cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Dalian to serve the needs of manufacturers and exporters. Singapore, located at the Strait of Malacca, became a strategic hub for the company’s early overseas development, while Japan and Korea were natural markets given their role as Taiwan’s long-standing export destinations and raw material suppliers. Offices in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India were later added to capture opportunities from the rise of regional manufacturing bases and ASEAN trade growth. Beyond Asia, Pacific Concord expanded into Dubai, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh to meet demand from Middle Eastern, European, and South Asian markets, gradually building a service network that spans from Asia to Europe.
In ocean freight services, Pacific Concord focuses on integrating sailing schedules, capacity, and local customs resources to design optimal international transport routes for its clients. In addition, by combining freight insurance solutions with risk management support, the company helps reduce potential losses and strengthen supply chain resilience.
Looking ahead, Pacific Concord will continue to reinforce its core services, expand its regional network, and embrace emerging technologies in order to respond proactively to market changes and customer needs. We believe that continuous progress and innovation are essential to creating lasting value for our clients and to building a more resilient global supply chain together.
